Hooray hooray twas Half Man Half Biscuit day

Al Napp
Morning This is a stripped down, posted from my phone entry, so excuse boy typos please. Last night was a Half Man Half Biscuit gig at the junction, Cambridge. If you don’t know who HMHB are, then in some ways I am envious, as there’s a wonderful discovery process to be under taken, simply go to hmhb.co.uk and purchase the back catalogue. Of course If you don’t know who HMHB are you’ve also wasted a lot of time when you could have been listening to them.

Stewart Lee 08/03/2010 Junction 2 Cambridge

Al Napp
Stewart Lee is one of my favourite comedians, would this show be as good as his previous ones, (either seen live, or purchased from his back catalogue at GoFasterStripe) Well hardly a surprise to find that of course it would Support today was provided by Wilson Dixon a country music parody character similar to Rich Hall’s Otis Lee Crenshaw - very good. Then the main event. Like Mr Lee himself, I’d never seen the Junction 2 in its “extended format” but hopefully this is a sign that the TV series has re-raised his profile in a good way.

Go see Forkbeard Fantasy

Al Napp
In my current “delicate” condition there are very few things that would persuade me to sit in a car for 2 hours just to see them. However Forkbeard Fantasy is one of those things. I would say that everyone should make it a goal to see this theatre company. I was first introduced to them nearly 20 years ago, they mix stagecraft, film, puppetry and wild imagination to create truly unique entertainment.

Cycling Fat

Al Napp
For anyone of a hefty persuasion who is considering cycling I have learned a two things which I’ll share here. Comfort It is never going to be a realistic proposition when you are big, bike saddles aren’t that comfy for anyone, but weighing twice what you should and then putting it all on a seat a third the size of a really uncomfortable bar stool is not going to be fun.
